You can activate your phone with companies like Page Plus Cellular and in most cases when they try over the air program "OTA" dialing *22890 or *228 does not complete the programing process so you have to do it manually.
Here is a guide for smartphones and others.
HTC Models
HTC Ozone 6175
Manual ProgrammingPress the green talk symbol to get to the dial pad.
Enter ##778 then press the green "Talk button"
Enter 000000 for SPC Lock
Select "View Info" on bottom left and select NAM Settings
Click on Mobile Directory Number and then "Menu > Edit" at the bottom right of the screen and enter the MDN.
Next click on the MSID field and hit "Menu > Edit" at the bottom right of the screen. and enter the MIN/MSID.
Select "View Info" bottom left and choose HomeSID/NID to verify that it is correct for you location.
Select "Menu > Edit" to modify if needed.
Press "Center Button" on the Device to reset and the phone programming is complete.

Manual Programming
Press the green talk symbol to get to the dial pad.
Enter ##778 then press the green "Talk button"
Tap the keypad icon at the bottom of the screen to display the keypad and Enter 000000
Click on the Drop down list starting with Display and select NAM Settings
Click on Mobile Directory Number and then edit at the bottom left of the screen.
Enter the MDN and hit ok.
Next click on the MSID field and hit edit.
Enter the MIN/MSID and hit "ok'.
Tap "ok" at the top right of the screen.
Click ok to update the items.
Click ok the reset the device.

QUICK PROGRAMMING Note: The HTC Incredible requires OTA Programming be performed. If an OTA has not been performed, by pressing the SEND Key the device takes you to a screen that states "Press Send to activate your device" and has an option for "Emergency Call" by tapping Emergency Call on screen, you can then proceed to step 1 below. Note: The steps below contain fields that cannot be edited. User would need to be directed to retail store to program device via PST or perform OTA when possible.
Tap Phone, press ##778, tap Call
Tap Edit Mode
Enter 6 digit code SPC ( 000000 ), tap OK on screen.
Tap NAM Settings
Tap Mobile Directory Number (MDN) - Field not available for edits
Tap 12# on display to change display to numbers
Enter 10 Digit MDN, tap OK
Tap MIN1
Tap 12# on display to change display to numbers
Enter 7 Digit MIN
Tap MIN2
Enter 3 digit area code, tap OK
Tap Back Arrow
Tap Home SID/Home NID

Hello the Mobile Directory Number(MDN) Is not an editable field. I wonder how could I make it editable
In some HTC models the SP ( service provider ) block the MDN field to make it editable, some times by placing the MIN and SID (if you know it) and then dialing *228 and the option 1 to program the phone will by pass it and place the MDN automatically, although there is no warranty.
